One of the main topics throughout Year 3 is to learn all about life in Tudor Britain. We have introduced the children to this historical period this week, and explored a little more about the character of Henry VIII.
The children have been researching all about the six wives of the former King, and finding out what happened to each of them. We discussed differences between life in Tudor times, and our own experiences around Walworth. We all agreed it is probably safer to be living in twenty-first century Britain!
Our art sessions have also had a Tudor theme. The children have been experimenting with different levels of shading in their work. We have learnt what effect a heavy hand can have on our pictures, by pressing down with more pressure on the pencil.
