The new children have been settling into the Nursery by playing a series of listening games. This activity has been part of our main topic of learning all about ourselves. We have introduced the children to the five senses that we have, and how listening can help us be aware of what is around us.
We played back the sounds that our children can sometimes hear around them. These included, guitars, pianos, sheep, pigs and fireworks. We asked each child what they could hear, and then more importantly, where they might be able to listen to this particular sound.
Next week we are going to focus on the sights that we can see around the school. We will be taking the children out for an observational walk around the school, and then describing back in the Nursery what we were able to see.
