Our Tudor work around Year 3 has taken on a highly thoughtful approach this week as we have been considering the fate of one of King Henry VIII’s wives, Anne Boleyn. The children are familiar with the story of each of the six wives, and in particular, how and why Anne Boleyn was locked up in the Tower of London.
We have been writing letters in the character of Anne Boleyn, thinking about what it must have felt like to be locked away from her family and friends. We have presented these as a class display, adding an authentic Tudor staining to the letters. All of the Year 3 children can’t wait until we visit the Tower of London next week to see where Anne Boleyn was locked up! You can listen to a selection of our Tudor letters being read out in the podcast below.
