We have been encouraging the children in Year 4 to share their individual talents with the rest of their classmates. Ebow very bravely volunteered to bring in from home his West African djembe drum.
“My dad started to teach me how to play my djembe when I was six years-old,” said Ebow. “I now have two lessons a week, learning different rhythm patterns and styles of drumming. I have been to Ghana once to meet my other family members. I heard some drummers playing on my trip. These inspired me to keep on improving.”
Ebow amazed the rest of his class with a wonderful solo performance on his drum. We are happy to recreate the moment, with Ebow proudly playing his djembe for us in the podcast below.
