As part of our transport topic for this term, the Nursery children took part in an event organised by the local police. We attended a transport themed open day at nearby Burgess Park. The police were on hand to let the Nursery children try out all the different forms of transport that they use. We were able to sit in a police car, on a police motorbike and even a police horse! The session also included a discussion about how we can keep safe when we are close to roads.
Back in the Michael Faraday Nursery and we have been carrying out some data handling work related to our transport topic. All of the children have undertaken a simple survey, trying to find out the many different ways that we all travel to school. We have put this data into a graph, so that we can compare the many forms of transport that are available to us.
