It has been a frantic but equally fun time for our Nursery and Reception staff over the past couple of weeks. We have been planning and preparing incredibly hard behind the scenes ahead of the arrival of our brand new classes. With the new Nursery and Reception area now being guaranteed for completion on Monday 20th September, we have been scheduling the staggered arrival of our new starters. The decision was taken to introduce the new children in small groups on a different day over the course of a week. You can find out the exact starting date of your child over here.
Much of the focus for our first week of teaching will all be about orientation. It is a truly amazing new building that we are all entering, and we need to spend some time to get familiar with our surroundings. We will be letting the children explore our fantastic purpose built play area. New equipment and resources have been delivered, and we will be introducing the idea of how to share and learn together.
As the term progresses, the children will start their main class topic of Ourselves. This will allow us to learn more about each other, as well as the new school building that we will be learning in. We plan to introduce a Photography Club to encourage the children to explore and capture the features of the new building.
This is the first time that Michael Faraday has been able to support two Nursery classes. It is an incredibly exciting time for all involved in the Early Years stage of learning. We have every confidence that both our brilliant new school building and brilliant team of staff will make this move a huge success.
