Reception Science Trip

Both Reception classes had a brilliant trip out to the Science Museum this week. We have been learning about repeating patterns that we can see around us. A number of displays at the Museum helped us to understand these in more detail. The children were able to play with a massive collection of different coloured building blocks. We used these to try and map out our own repeating pattern. There was also a special Pattern Pod available at the Science Museum where we could get ideas for our own designs.

We spent the lunchtime outside in the magnificent garden space, hunting down any natural repeating patterns that were around us. Our afternoon sessions at the Science Museum included a practical workshop learning all about human bones. We had a surprise visit from a skeleton! You can find out more about the big day out in Reception by watching the video above.
