We have been continuing our work in the Michael Faraday Reception class based around our current class-reading book of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. All of the children have written their own account of the story. We have been working with our friends across both Reception classes, and reading and sharing our work. The children also held a fruit tasting session, trying out all of the different fruit that the Hungry Caterpillar enjoys eating in the book.
There is also a science element to this work, as the Reception class has been looking after our own caterpillars! We have been talking about how we need to care for caterpillars and not disturb them as they change from an egg, to a caterpillar, a catacomb and them finally a butterfly. We have been feeding our caterpillars and monitoring their growth. You can find out more about our scientific study in the video above.
