We are continuing our animal research in the Michael Faraday Reception. The children are reading many different books, all about different animals and how we can identify them all. To help us remember the many names of the animals, we have been singing some animal related songs, and then counting the number of beats that we can hear in each name. We are all looking forward to the Reception animal party next week ahead of half term!
A very special animal friend in Reception at the moment is Alex, the German Teddy Bear! This is a visitor from Berlin who has been spending some time across the Early Years and Key Stage 1 classes, with the aim of helping the children with their different language skills. Alex has introduced the Reception children to some new German words, as well as some singing and dancing! It’s a great way to learn a new language, as you can see from the video above!
