Year 4 staged a well thought out assembly to the rest of Key Stage 2 recently, based all around the story of the Good Samaritan. We welcomed our friends into the assembly by playing some calming music on our ukuleles. We then explained how the Good Samaritan is originally a Christian story from The Bible, but it contains many similar themes and parallels across all the major world religions.
We invited our friends from the other year groups to volunteer any knowledge that they might already have about the Good Samaritan story. Each pupil in Year 4 then read out some of the written work that we have completed, explaining what we think it means to behave like a Good Samaritan. We concluded our assembly by making the connection with the story and the Michael Faraday School motto: Treat people how you would like to be treated.
