World Book Day, Pancakes and English in the Nursery

The Nursery children are very excited about World Book on 2 March. Each year group will be celebrating the work of a particular author. The Nursery children will be learning about Julia Donaldson. We have been particularly enjoying The Gruffalo book.

The Nursery children will be treated to a drama session as part of World Book Day. This will involve the children using rich language to help with problem solving.

All children are encouraged to dress as their favourite book character on 2 March. We are hoping to see some great Gruffalo characters in the Nursery.

Another event to look forward to in the Nursery is Pancake Day. The children will be sampling pancakes, and asked to choose their favourite topping. Plus we will also be staging a grand Nursery Pancake Race!

Other Nursery learning has involved maths and English. The children have been playing a number identification game. A dice is rolled. The children then have to cross out the corresponding number on a worksheet.

Our English learning has looked at letters and sounds. The children have been identifying letters, and matching pictures to the first letter of each image.
