Year 5 have produced some fantastic pieces of writing based around our class topic of Fairy Tales. We have been looking at this style of writing and comparing it to other types of stories.
The pupils have been asked to identify some of the defining themes for fairy tales. We have seen how the stories often involve spells, enchantment and royal characters. Most stories have a happy ending, although some have a dark twist at the end.
This then led to the pupils creating their own fairy tale story. Year 5 were asked to think about the structure of their writing. The use of paragraphs was encouraged. This breaks down our stories to make them flow for the reader.
Each story contained some unique ideas. You can listen to some of the year 5 children sharing their fairy tales in the recording below.
