Y6 Assembly Asks Friends to ‘Believe in the Impossible’

Leanne’s Year 6 class recently staged an assembly based around our current reading book, The Man Who Walked Between the Towers. This tells the story of how Philippe Petit walked a tightrope between the Twin Towers in New York in 1974.

This was a very practical assembly. The Year 6 art group had helped to prepare the set. This included a representation of the Twin Towers, as well as the props that were needed to act out the walk. We would like to praise Jessie and Joshua for their stunning creative work.

Our assembly acted out the suspense from between the Twin Towers in 1974. Some superb performances took place by the pupils. This was backed up with some confident narration. We had a very captive audience as the suspense unfolded.

Our Year 6 assembly concluded with Philippe Petit’s message: Believe in the impossible.
