Year 6 Set for South Bank Percussion Concert

Both Year 6 classes are rehearsing ahead of the Southwark Music Services Percussion Festival that takes place at the Royal Festival Hall on 5th February.

We have been having weekly drumming sessions with our friends from Southwark Music Service since the start of the school year. Our performance will include Latin and African percussion rhythms.

The concert will take place in the grand Clore Ballroom. We will be joined by 200 pupils from the borough who have all been learning a similar sequence of songs.

The show tells the story about some children who visit a place called Perc Town. Each year a rhythmic festival takes place. Our contribution to the show will be to supply the rhythm!

As well as drumming there are many songs and other rhythmic actions to learn. We look forward to hopefully seeing as many parents as possible being able to support the Year 6 students at the Royal Festival Hall.
