Sport Relief 2018 at Michael Faraday School was an amazing success! Many activities were organised throughout the whole school. We are still counting the final total raised. Joanna’s Year 5 Class alone managed to raise over £300!
Year 1 held a Danceathon in the school ballroom. The aim was to dance for the duration of a whole class session. Different styles of music kept the children motivated. One of the highlights was the whole class taking part in the Macarena!
Year 5 took to the water for Sports Relief. The pupils took part in many different challenges at the Dolphin Court swimming pool. We enjoyed swimming lengths, treading water and swimming through hoops.
The Year 6 students raised money by taking part in various races. These included balancing a bean bag on your head, a sack race and a three-legged race.
On the final day of Sports Relief week all pupils were invited to dress as their favourite sporting heroes. A small donation was made. It was wonderful to see ballerinas, ice skaters and a boxer.
As well as the sporting activities the teachers took the time to explain why we hold Sports Relief every two years. The pupils were able to find out about how the Sports Relief money will help people less fortunate than us.
We would like to thank our brilliant Sports Coordinator Kelly for organising the Sports Relief activities.
