The Key Stage 2 Sports Day was a brilliant morning celebrating our many sporting skills at Michael Faraday School. We had beautiful sunny weather for the event. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers being able to come along and support the children.
The event was organised as a friendly competition. Four teams throughout Years 3 to 6 competed across each discipline. The activities included a relay race, a tennis themed balancing race, rugby passing, the long jump, golf skills, boules and even a penalty shoot-out!
All pupils have been coached around these skills during our recent PE lessons. Sports Day was an opportunity to put our talents to the test in a friendly environment.
Sports Day started with a gentle warm up and a team talk from Kelly, our wonderful PE Co-ordinator. The pupils were asked to focus on what they can achieve, as well as support their friends.
It was then time for the events to begin. Each work station included a World Cup question at the end. Extra points were awarded for the teams that were able to answer the questions. We also sneaked in some cheeky points for any parents who very kindly took part!
We would like to thank Kelly for organising this amazing morning of sporting achievements. You can catch up with all the action in the photo gallery below.
