Year 4 have been focussing on the properties of 2D shapes for our autumn term maths learning. We have been looking at triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons and other non-polygons.
A good starting point was to come up with a definition for each shape type. The pupils were asked to look at the number of sides, the corners and to think about straight or curved lines.
A sorting exercise then took place. The pupils cut out a variety of shapes. These were then stuck in our books in the corresponding shape area.
