Class teacher Kelly recently staged a Key Stage 1 assembly based around the Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night story. The assembly started by thinking why November is an important month for British history. As well as Bonfire Night we also have Remembrance Sunday.
The Year 2 pupils have been learning about Guy Fawkes during their history lessons. They were able to answers some questions set by Kelly about the events that took place on 5th November, 1605.
We watched a short slideshow showing the main events in the story. Kelly asked questions about what might be happening at each stage in the story.
Safety was also looked at during the assembly. Kelly explained how we can be safe whilst watching a fireworks display. The assembly finished with all the pupils reciting the Remember, remember the 5th of November poem.
