The Reception children have started the new spring term by working on improving their writing skills. We have been using familiar words and sounds to help us with our spelling.
Words such as pow and jab were used to help the children with their phonics understanding. Each class member was encouraged to think about the sounds and the number of syllables in each word.
The children were asked to write the words on their whiteboards in either lower or upper case. Extra praise was given for anyone using exclamation marks!
