The Reception children are busy with their growth and mini-beasts class topic. This has seen some practical learning with each class member planting a runner bean.
The children have watered their plants each day and taken care of them. Class teachers Emily and Ayshah have asked each class member to describe what they can see as the beans start to grow.
Our mini-beasts learning has been boosted by reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Some of the children have made impressive caterpillar sculptures using the Reception plasticine.
We have also been on a mini-beast hunt in the Reception outdoor space. The children were able to observe spiders, ants and some worms. We made sure that the mini-beasts were put back in a safe place where we found them.
