Key Stage 2 Sports Day at Michael Faraday School was another fantastic success for 2019. Pupils throughout the school competed in a fun environment under the perfect weather conditions.
Sports Day started with some stretches under the guidance of class teacher Badgie. Our Sports Co-ordinator Kelly then led the pupils through a couple of warm-up dances.
Kelly explained to everyone how Sports Day at Michael Faraday is all about fun. All pupils were placed in one of four colour coded teams. Kelly said that teamwork and supporting friends was more important than winning.
Our large playground space was set up with the activities for the morning. Sports Day was a highly organised event with plenty of thought given to keep the work stations fresh and challenging for the competitors.
The events competed for included:
Fancy Dress Relay
Blind football penalties
Pirate Treasure Race
Each year group rotated around the work stations. Support staff kept a tally on the points scored for each team.
It was great to see the pupils being supportive of all their friends. We made sure that everyone was given the right environment to try their best and to have some fun!
The highlight of Sports Day 2019 was the Parent’s Race fancy dress race, followed by the staff race. Some great sporting gestures were on show.
We would like to thank Kelly and her support team for organising another amazing Sports Day at Michael Faraday School. Thank you as well to the many parents and carers who were able to come along and add their support.
