We have had a visit from an intriguing character in Year 5 at the start of the new school year – Skellig has fascinated the children, as we have started work based around the classic David Almond story.
This is quite a complex character for us to understand. We have been talking about how the various characters in Skellig respond to each other, and what motivates them to carry out their actions.
Our written work has focussed on predicting what we think will happen next in the story, and how the characters might feel. The children have all produced their own journals, written in character, explaining their feelings.
