Our reading of Frank Cottrell Boyle’s Framed book had led to an added artistic twist in Year 6 this week. Contained within the book is the description of a famous Rembrandt work of art, The Umbrella. Our friends at the National Gallery have invited the Michael Faraday children to submit an entry to a painting competition. We decided that it would be perfect for Year 6 to recreate their own interpretation of the Rembrandt classic for our competition entry!
Year 6 currently has a huge blank canvas hanging on the classroom wall, waiting for us to fill up the space with our amazing artwork. This week, each child has been sketching and painting their own piece of work, ready for the collaborative effort later in the term.
