We treated Year 5 to a trip to the British Museum this week. Much of our history work for this term has been spent researching all about Ancient Greek civilisation. The British Museum is a brilliant place to explore the wonderful Greek artefacts at first hand. We have been looking at the Myths and Legends as told by the Ancient Greeks. We were able to look for evidence of these at the British Museum, observing the artwork found on many of the ancient pots. The children were also able to view the famous Elgin Marbles. We held a class discussion, debating if it is right or wrong to keep the major historical exhibit within this country. We caught up with a group of our children as soon as they returned to school, to find out all about their big day out at the British Museum. You can find out more about the trip in the video above.
