Our Year 6 pupils attended an open day at nearby King’s College University this week. Higher Education may seem like some time away for Year 6, but we welcomed the opportunity to find out a little more about University life. The idea behind the visit was for an informal introduction to University study and lifestyle. Our friend’s at King’s College were keen to put across the message that this is something that all Michael Faraday pupils can aspire to, and a University degree is certainly possible if we continue our hard work. Our pupils had a Q and A session with a number of undergraduates, who explained more about the many different subjects that are on offer at King’s College. We spoke about how to apply to University, and what it is like to meet new friends from all around the world. A selection of our pupils reflects on the King’s College visit in the podcast below.
Our last few remaining weeks as Michael Faraday pupils have been spent preparing for the prestigious Year 6 play. Rehearsals for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are in full flow, following our recent week away as part of the School Journey. Year 6 had a wonderful time down in Bournemouth and we were blessed with some brilliant weather. As part of our activities, we visited a zoo, went on a boat trip and even staged a celebratory disco! Plenty of fun, and great friendship building, as you can see from the photos below.
