The Nursery children have enjoyed their Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale topic so much that we decided to plant our own Michael Faraday beanstalks! We have been talking about what any plant life needs to grow big and strong – plenty of water and light conditions. We started off our beanstalks by placing the beans in a cup near a window in the classroom. When these had started to sprout, we then moved the beanstalks outside into the Nursery garden. The children will be measuring the growth of their beanstalks as part of our maths topic. We are expecting plenty of height, although hopefully no giants at the top! You can watch a short Nursery gardening video above.
