As an update to our science work, Year 1 have continued to monitor the growth of the plants that we returned with after our recent trip to the London Wildlife Centre. The children are all keeping a growth diary. We monitor and measure the plant growth every couple of days as we continue to water them.
A side plant project has also been set up, to see if plants need bright light to help them grow. We have planted some cress in two containers. One of these is being stored inside a dark cupboard; the other has been placed in a bright spot in the classroom. Already we have seen how the cress in the cupboard is turning yellow, whereas the outdoor cress is a bright green colour.
