As part of our counting work based around growing up in Victorian London, Year 5 have been reading Street Child, a book all about a Victorian orphan. This is based on the real life story of Jim Jarvis, a Victorian child that led Dr Banardo to set up his charity. Year 3 will be sharing the work with the rest of the school during an assembly later in the term.
We have also been using traditional Victorian values to help us with our maths work! One of the themes in the Street Child book is that of prudence and keeping out of debt. Our maths works has been all about balancing the books, and looking at credit and debit. You can listen to a podcast based on our Victorian Street Child work below.
