Year 1 Drama Videos

Both of our Year 1 classes recently had a highly successful afternoon out at the nearby Blue Elephant Theatre. We performed the plays that we have been working on throughout the spring term with the expert professional help from the esteemed composer John Webb.

This has been a project that Year 1 have been working on for five weeks. Regular music and drama workshops have taken place with John and his wonderful team of musicians. What has been great about this project is that the storyline, music and production of the plays has come from the Year 1 children.

Both classes performed to an incredibly high standard on the stage at the Blue Elephant. Lauren’s class impressed the audience with The Colourful Rainbow, whilst Sarah’s class received great reviews with their production of The Adventures of Disneyland.

It was wonderful to see so many parents and friends of Michael Faraday being able to take time out and support our pupils on the stage. Many thanks to John Webb and the Royal Academy of Music for making these productions possible. In case you missed the shows, you can catch up with the complete performances in the videos below.

Well done year 1 – you were fabulous! Just to add to the info above, the children created the story, the words and the melodies of the songs themselves. The whole point for us was to take their ideas and put them on stage.

And it couldn’t have happened without the wonderful Jo Sadler-Lovett who is a drama leader from the Blue Elephant Theatre where we performed. Many thanks to her and the wonderful RAM musicians.
