We have been continuing our work looking at plant growth during our science sessions in Year 2. Having covered in great detail research all about the rain forest, the pupils are now learning about different plants and the various parts that are so crucial to plant development.
The starting piece for our work was plant jigsaw. We cut up the shapes, and reassembled the plant with all the correct parts in the right place. We coloured our plants in, and then set about the task of labeling each individual part of the plant.
We have been learning what role the root plays in a plant, how the leaves help with the growth and why pollen is important for bees and other wildlife. You can find out more about our Year 2 science work in the video above.
