Both Reception classes have been carrying out plenty of group reading as our new pupils continue to get settled in and feel comfortable at Michael Faraday School. Working in small groups, the children have been sharing different stories together, and talking about what is happening in the books page by page.
We have asked the pupils about some of the characters that we are finding out about – are they good or bad, happy or sad? We also wanted the children to describe what the main characters might look like. This is a great exercise to help the pupils feel confident with their new class friends.
Next week is when we will all be working together on the brilliant Biscuit Bear book – plenty of opportunities to combine our reading with work in the kitchen!
