Year 3 Signs and Symbols

Year 3 have been continuing their R.E. work based around signs and symbols. We asked the pupils to try and think about the differences between a sign and symbol when used during worship. After some discussion and research, Year 3 came to the conclusion that a sign has one meaning, whereas symbols can have many different meanings.

Each pupil has researched how different world religions rely heavily upon signs to help with worship. We have produced individual books with pictures of symbols, as well as a description explaining about the meanings that they may contain. You can watch a selection of our pupils talking about this in the video above.

Elsewhere around Year 3 and we are continuing with our French language work. The pupils are now becoming familiar with French numbers, colours and simple greetings.

Tres bien!
