Year 3 have been continuing their R.E. work looking at how different religions celebrate various festivals. We have been looking at the Jewish festival of Sukkot, and why this is an important date in the Jewish calendar. As well as providing a written explanation for this, Year 3 have also produced some colourful pastel pictures of a Jewish Sukkah.
We are also making tremendous progress with our French work in Year 3. All pupils are progressing well in learning how to count in French. We are becoming familiar with not only the pronunciations, but also in being able to recognise the French number when they are written down.
Spoken word French is now being used regularly during the lessons, with questions and answers both being provided in French. We will develop this French number work to include some simple calculations using the French names for the numbers.
Other work around Year 3 includes looking at 3D shapes during maths lessons, and looking at different materials as part of our science work. The children have been working with a mixture of paper, card, foil, fabrics and rubber to produce some very interesting bugs!
