Year 6 have been working hard on writing their autobiographies. We approached this literacy work by first of all understanding what is meant by this particular form of writing. The pupils read a number of famous autobiographies. We found out how this type of writing is made up of a series of events that have a strong structure.
The pupils then produced some spider diagrams to help organise their own personal thoughts. This gave our own life stories some structure and sense of organisaton. The next task was to start writing the first draft of our autobiographies. You can listen to a couple of our pupils reading these out in the audioboo below.
