Our Year 6 scientists have continued with their series of experiments looking at how solids can dissolve. We recently devised and carried out three distinct experiments.
We wanted to find out the effect that temperature has on the speed of a solid being dissolved, the relationship between the size of a solid and the speed of dissolution, and finally if stirring a liquid can speed up the process.
We took great care in planning all three of these experiments. The pupils devised the methodology, as well as thinking about what apparatus we might need. We logged the results and then came up with a conclusion to present in our science books. You can listen to some of the outcomes in the audioboo below.
