Gruffalo in the Nursery!

Nursery

Having finished our work on What the Ladybird Heard and Walking Through the Jungle, the Nursery children have now started to look at the forest. There is no better forest character to explore than the Gruffalo! We have just introduced the Gruffalo to the Nursery children. Already we are having great fun singing the Gruffalo song, and learning all the animal actions.

The Nursery children have also been thinking about emotions. We wanted the children to be able to identify different emotions such as happy, sad or scared, and then to be able to explain what it might feel like if we are experiencing these.

The children have been looking through a series of photographs showing children expressing an emotion. This might include a boy looking surprised, as he has just been given a birthday present. We have asked the Nursery children to look at the pictures and to try and thin what emotion is being felt.

Plus we’ve found the time to produce these wonderful plasticine models of some of the jungle characters.
