Year 6 proudly presented Pirates of the Curry Bean as our grand end of year school play for 2013. As the title suggests, this was a playful production that told the tale of some bungling pirates and an honest Navy crew. Never the twain shall meet, until both crews found themselves setting sail on a collision course.
We have been working on this production throughout the summer term. The play included many musical highlights as well as some wonderfully corny jokes. It was a fast paced production that had plenty of roles for our talented Year 6 pupils to fill.
Two performances took place in the School Ballroom. We took this opportunity to rotate the lead roles, allowing as many Year 6 pupils as possible to be able to display their acting and singing talents. Many of the pupils were also able to lend their practical skills to help assist with the set and the many costumes and props that we had to source.
Both performances were incredibly well received. We would like to thank all family and friends of Michael Faraday School who were able to come along and offer their support. The evening show was a complete sell out. We are happy to share some videos and photos from the show for anyone who was unable to see Pirates of the Curry Bean.
We also need to thank the teaching staff that have worked endlessly over the past couple of months to help make the summer play such an amazing success. Leanne and Gabrielle jointly Directed the production, with Liz being our superb Musical Director. Joanna, Bridget, Dilek, Judy, Anne-Marie, Joyce and Karen G all offered invaluable input and support.
We hope that you enjoyed our show.
