We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our two new Nursery classes at Michael Faraday School. This is a very special moment for the children, parents and all staff. It is the start of hopefully a long and happy association with Michael Faraday School.
To help both children and parents with this transition, our Nursery staff have been making a number of home visits ahead of the new arrivals next week. This is to help the children feel comfortable around their new teachers, as well as an opportunity for parents or carers to ask any questions.
The staff have been keen to find out any special interests that the children may have. We can then use this knowledge when planning the learning and activities in the Nursery for the remainder of the school year.
The Nursery classrooms have had something of a makeover during the summer months. A new floor has been laid which is practical for when the children are playing. The staff are putting the finishing touches to the various themed areas.
One of our first tasks during the first week of teaching will be to get to know our new Nursery friends. We will be reading the Brown Bear book to help us with this. This is a story that involves the Brown Bear asking questions to know a little more about some of the other characters.
Good luck new Nursery starters!
