Year 2 Judaism Work

Year 2

Year 2 have been preparing for our forthcoming trip to the Camden Synagogue by learning about the importance of the sacred scrolls within Judaism. We have learnt how the Torah is viewed by the Jewish religion as much more than simply a piece of text.

The children have been exploring how great care and symbolism is attached to any reading of the Torah. All pupils have re-created their own version of the Torah. We are looking forward to our trip to the Synagogue, with hopefully many questions to ask.

Our maths work is Year 2 has involved exploring 3D shapes. We introduced the children to the concept of how we can view the depth of each shape by understanding some of the properties. The pupils have been thinking of ways in which to describe some of the 3D shapes. We have been sorting 3D shapes into groups that have similar properties.
