Gruffalo in the Nursery!

The Nursery children have started off the new term at Michael Faraday by being introduced to The Gruffalo. We have started our work by looking at some of the main characters and how the story starts.

Plenty of role-play has been carried out with the children having access to a selection of Gruffalo puppets. We have been using the story prompt technique to help place the key events in the correct sequence. Each class member is prompted by an adult to help complete a sentence involving their puppet. The aim is for the children to recall some of the popular phrases used in the story.

Other Gruffalo activities in the Nursery include plenty of table work being made available. The children have been completing some Gruffalo jigsaw puzzles, and producing some colourful artwork based on the book.
