The Nursery children have been having great fun learning and playing across many different topics as we come towards the end of the summer term. The caterpillars that we introduced to the children a few weeks ago have now become catacombs. We are carefully observing this change as part of our science learning about the life cycle of different minibeasts. We have been reading The Very Hungary Caterpillar as part of this learning.
We are also growing many different plants and vegetables. The children are taking great care to regularly water the lettuce, beanstalks and flowers that we are growing. We have been taking the Nursery children out to the nearby East Street Market to help buy the plants and seeds. We have also been reading woodland themes stories such as Goldilocks and Jack and the Beanstalk.
We are looking forward to our end of term trip to the Tate Modern. We will be taking the children to look at the Matisse exhibition. We have been preparing for this trip by talking about the size of some of the pictures that we are hopeful of seeing.
