Year 4 have started a couple of new topics in both history and geography that have a strong connection. We are learning all about the culture of the Ancient Egyptians in history, whilst in geography we are looking at some of the North African countries that border modern day Egypt.
We already have a trip planned to the British Museum on 16 September. Year 4 will be looking in great detail at some of the Ancient Egyptian artifacts that the Museum is able to display.
The pupils have also started reading Gregory Cool as our current class book for the autumn term. This tells the tale of a young boy from London and the adventures that he has when he visits his grandparents in Tobago.
This had led Year 4 to think a little bit more about the island of Tobago. We have set the pupils the challenge to write a piece of persuasive literature that will encourage other people to visit the place.
Year 4 have been thinking about what attractions Tobago might have and how we can best describe these. We have also started to produce some artwork to include in our brochures.
Finally Year 4 have been using our PE time to help improve our teamwork skills. The children have been taking part in a number of activities that require each team member to work together in order to be successful.
