The new Nursery children are settling in well during the first few weeks of the new term at Michael Faraday School. It has been wonderful to have Yi Kai with us, a visiting teacher from China. With so many of the new starters speaking Mandarin or Cantonese, Yi Kai has been able to help the children and the parents during these first few weeks of teaching.
Yi Kai has also been working with all pupils in helping them with their learning. The Nursery children are already learning how to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in different languages!
Our first class reading book in the Nursery will be The Hairy Toe. This is a very funny story with plenty of opportunities to be creative with the Nursery art resources. The children have been making collages of a hairy toe using tissue paper and feathers.
We are also making the most of the weather whilst it still remains warm. The children have been exploring the Nursery outdoor space and the many resources that we are able to offer. The big bikes are incredibly popular. The children are also taking it in turns to attend to the Nursery garden.
Looking ahead and a Nursery trip to the theatre has already been arranged for the second half of the autumn term. We will be taking the children to the Leicester Square Theatre to see a production of Stick Man. Plenty of preparation will take place ahead of this trip as we introduce the character of Stick Man to the children.
