Year 3 have started a research project based around the broad theme of dinosaurs. This work has been inspired out of our reading of the brilliant The Pebble in my Pocket – a book that explains all about the history of our natural planet.
We set the pupils an open-ended research task. Each pair was asked to carefully consider what information they would like to learn about the dinosaur period. Some of the questions involved food; others were more deeper such as why did the dinosaurs die out?
A number of different resources were made available. The Michael Faraday library has a good selection of dinosaur based books. Year 3 were also able laptops to research the topic online.
You can listen to some of the ideas based around this work in the short recording below.
