Both Year 2 classes recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to London Zoo. We have been learning about the rain forest environment and the type of animals that like to live in this type of habitat.
Our trip to London Zoo was able to include some time spent in the special rain forest area. The pupils were able to experience at first hand the conditions of the rain forest that were replicated. The children found it very hot and humid.
Some of the rain forest animals that we have been researching were also living in the rain forest environment at London Zoo. Year 2 were lucky to see a couple of newly born sloths.

Back at Michael Faraday School and the animal exploration continued. Our friend Paul from Southwark Council very kindly brought a selection of his reptiles and spiders in for the pupils to see.
These included snakes, scorpions and tarantulas. Although some of the children were a little nervous at first, Paul explained how we need to be respectful to these beautiful creatures and they will show some respect back.
This was a very hands on session as you can see from the photo gallery below.
