Esther’s Year 4 class are incredibly proud to have been featured in the local Southwark News newspaper. A reporter and photographer came to visit our class to find out all about the fundraising efforts that the pupils have been putting in place to raise money for people suffering from the Nepal earthquake.
A sponsored run by Esther’s Year 4 pupils was able to raise an impressive £247.94 – our original target was to try and reach the £200 figure. All 28 pupils in the class each ran a distance of 1.5km. This is the equivalent of the whole class completing a marathon.
The idea to raise money for Nepal came from class member Oscar. He wanted to help out the people of Nepal, and so put forward the possibility of a fundraiser with his fellow pupils. Esther’s Year 4 Class also put on an impressive assembly to try and encourage our friends from around the school to think about how they could also help to raise money.
You can listen to some of the ideas behind the fund raising efforts in the recording below.
