The Year 3 children at Michael Faraday School have been reading the Ice Palace book as we approach the winter season. As the name suggests, this is a story with many themes about the cold winter months, and some of the celebrations that we have.
The children have decided that they would like to transform their class room into a mini Ice Palace. Each pupil has been carefully creating a replica of a stain glass window design to decorate the class room with. Winter themed items such as snowflakes and Christmas trees have been designed and then cut out.
This creative work also fits in with the current RE learning in Year 3. The pupils have been looking at some of the identifying features in a Christian church. We have seen how stain glass windows are often used in a church to help tell a particular story.
