The Year 5 students at Michael Faraday School have been exchanging pen pal letters with our friends from Paulus Schule in Germany. This is a relationship that been put in place following the visit of Head Teacher Rosemary to Michael Faraday School last term.
It was decided that it would be a great idea to continue this friendship by pairing each pupil up with a German friend. The students from Paulus Schule sent the first batch of letters. These explained a little more about their family and some of the interests that the children have. The German children showed their understanding of their language skills with each letter being written in superb English.
The Year 5 pupils at Michael Faraday School have now started their work on returning the favour. We have been thinking about what type of information we would like to send to our German penpals. Once the information was sourced, we then started work on the translation.
We hope to continue with this English / German friendship with Paulus School with letters being exchanged each term. This is still very much a work in progress for the Michael Faraday pupils. You can listen to a couple of the students explaining a little more about their work in the recording below.
