Year 3 Create 3D Christmas Decorations

The Year 3 children at Michael Faraday School have been winding down after a very busy autumn term. With most of the learning for 2015 now complete, attention has turned towards making some Christmas decorations to take home.

We were able to add a little maths learning into this activity. Our maths work has involved looking at 3D shapes. The decorations that were created involved making a 3D gingerbread man.

Each pupil worked from a 2D template. They were asked to come up with their own colourful Christmas design. Resources such as tissue paper were added to create a unique style. The 2D shapes were then joined together to create a unique 3D gingerbread man to take home.
