Year 3 have been working on producing a book review during the first few days of the new spring term at Michael Faraday School. This was a piece of work that was originally set as a homework task. The learning continued in the classroom with corrections and further improvements.
Part of this learning involved understanding that a book review can be critical. We have held class discussions about why it is important to be honest when describing how we feel about a piece of writing. This then led to the reviews including a comment about whether the book could be recommended for other friends to read.
The reviews were then presented with a front cover, and some carefully formatted handwriting. They will be made available in the school library for others pupils to reference for when they next decide which books to read.
